Peep into the walk of life of Sherpa people with "Sherpa Culture Trek". This trek revolves around various small settlements of Sherpa community in the eastern Himalayan belt of Khumbu region. This trek bestows with an opportunity to traverse into Buddhist practices and rituals of Sherpa community of Everest Region.
Nestled in the lap of mighty Mt.Everest, Sherpas are Indo-Tibetan community of people who reside in the Khumbu region. They are popular across the globe for their out of the world climbing perfection.
On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our staff, who will escort you to the hotel. After some refreshments our Sherpa guide or other representative will give you a brief orientation about the hotel, Kathmandu itself, trekking, and the do's and don’ts of the area. They will also review any additional information that you might require while in Nepal, including an overview of the next day's sightseeing tour. In the evening, you will enjoy a complimentary welcome dinner at one of the finest traditional Nepalese restaurants in Kathmandu. Transfers by private vehicle.

After breakfast, precede to Kathmandu Durbar Square. Here we take in the ancient palace, the temple of the Kumari, known as the living goddess, Hanuman Dhoka, and Kasthamandap Temple. From our knowledgeable guide, you will learn about Nepalese history, architecture and religion. From here, proceed by private vehicle to the Buddhist site of Swoyambhunath Stupa, also known as the "Monkey Temple" because of its lively troops of resident monkeys. From Swoyambhunath you can look down over the city while learning about the local Buddhist culture. Then visit Pashupatinath Temple, the holiest shrine for Hindus, situated on the banks of the Bagmati River. Being that the Bagmati is considered a holy river, many funeral cremations take place along its banks. Before returning to the hotel, visit Boudhnath Stupa, a Buddhist pilgrimage center and home to many colorful gompas, or monasteries. The area is particularly vibrant and colourful in the early evening when locals come out to circumambulate around the stupa, reciting prayers as they walk. Once back at the hotel, you will receive a briefing about the trek and have a chance to meet your guides and ask any last minute questions before the next morning's departure.

After breakfast, we will be taken to the domestic terminal of TIA for an early morning flight to Lukla. After a flying above the breathtaking green and white mountains, we reach Tenzing-Hillary Airport at Lukla. This is one of the most beautiful air routes in the world culminating in a landing on a hillside surrounded by high mountains. Upon our arrival at Lukla, we meet our other crew members and after some packing and arrangements, we start our trek through the prosperous village of Lukla until we reach Phakding. To assist in acclimatization, we only have a short hike today. However, if interested in additional activities, we can take a side trip to a nearby monastery. Overnight in Phakding.

After crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River, the walk is pleasant, with a few short ups and downs, until you re-cross the Dudh Koshi from the village of Benkar. On the way, take in in the magnificent view of Thamserku (6,608m). Crossing another suspension bridge, again over the Bhote Koshi River, you reach Monjo, situated below the spectacular peak of Thamserku and a few minutes' walk from the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. Here your trekking permit and park entrance ticket will be checked to ensure a safety record is kept of all trekkers entering the area.

We head west from the river basin of Bhote Koshi River. We cross Phortse village where a tree nursery initiated by Sir Edmund Hillary's Himalayan Trust is located. After descending to the river we cross a bridge before making a steep climb to Thame, situated at an important junction along the old primary trade route to and from Tibet via the Nangpa La (pass).

Trek to Khumjung is easy going. We first make our way to the Syangboche airstrip, just above which is the famous Everest View Hotel. Khumjung valley depicts traditional Sherpa society with housing and occupational manner. Khumjung Monastery and Sir Edmund Hillary School major landmarks of Khumjung region. This village is also popular for its amazing record for every one member of this village are mountain guide or have climbed Everest at least once.

Traversing through the lower slopes of Khumbila we make our way to Phortse which is another major settlement of Sherpas in the Everest region. You will be feel energized with enigmatic views of Phortse, Cholatse and Taboche, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kangtanga among others.

This day’s trek starts with a hard but short climb after which we move steadily alongside a ridge to Pangboche. We visit the Pangboche Gomba on the way and see the footprints of the Lama Sangwa Dorje. The houses of Pangboche nestle beautifully above the terraced fields like a large crescent moon. From Pangboche, we head east and join the main trail of the Everest Base Camp. Then we descend to Tengboche, a village that houses the very famous Tengboche monastery which is the largest monastery of the Everest region. Located amidst the Sagarmatha National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site of “outstanding universal value”), it is draped with the panoramic 360-degree view of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku. The monastery opens at 3:pm so we reach there by three. And, if we are lucky we might just be able to witness a religious ceremony. From Tengboche the route steeply descends to Phunki Thangka through the pine and Rhododendron forest then ascends the ridge towards passing some small villages and join at Shanasha and Kyanjuma. Further two hours walk path reaches you at Namche Bazaar.Overnight at Teahouse/Lodge

Last day of this great trek will be one of the good walk to Lukla, you can walk at your own best pace, leisurely and enjoying the lush green scenery around. Apart from few short uphill the only long climb will be just before Lukla which will take approximately 45 minutes from a place called Choplung or from the old big oak tree. On reaching Lukla, prepare for the last day great dinner and a party with the fellow Sherpa crew, porters and trekking members. Overnight at Teahouse/Lodge

he flight time to Kathmandu, are schedule for morning normally, because of the wind in the afternoon, sometime the flight time can be delayed due to bad weather and other reason beyond our command. As we get hold of the boarding pass depending upon our flight time we make our way to the terminal for security check, this scenic flight from Lukla takes about 45 minutes to Kathmandu, a panoramic view of the snowcapped peaks can be seen from window of the plane. Arriving at Kathmandu domestic terminal, one of our Tour Officers will be waiting to receive and escort you back to the Hotel. Overnight in Hotel

Your adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with your travel companions and organize your photos. A representative from Himalayan Glacier will take you to the airport, approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home you’ll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
