Brief Introduction of the Locations
Kathmandu: Situated at an elevation of 1336 meters, Kathmandu is the Capital city and the largest city of Nepal. Kathmandu Valley covers an area of 218 sq. miles which comprises of three cities, namely, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Patan. All of these cities have equal historical significance. Kathmandu has now been growing up as one of the best tourist destinations in the world because of its diverse historical, cultural and social importance as well as its ancient architecture. There are seven historical sites in Kathmandu valley which are listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The three Durbar Squares are the major tourist sites of Kathmandu. All of them are listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. All of these Durbar Squares reflect the medieval architecture. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is also famous for clay pottery. Boudhanath is another famous tourist site in Kathmandu. It is situated 8km north-east of Kathmandu. It is the biggest stupa in Nepal. Every day thousands of Buddhist devotees visit Boudhanath. Swoyambhunath is another important Buddhist site in Kathmandu which is also called "Monkey Temple". It is the oldest stupa in Kathmandu which is believed to be built more than 2000 years ago. Pashupatinath is regarded as the biggest temple of Hindus in the world which is located on the bank of Bagmati River. Only Hindus are allowed to enter into the main temple but you can still visit around the temples even if you are not Hindu.
Apart from these important tourist places, there are many other beautiful places in Kathmandu which is worth to visit if you have enough time. Kapan Monastry is located at the north of Kathmandu which is rested on the top of a ridge from where you can have good view of Kathmandu valley. It is opened only for tourists. White Monastery is highly decorated Monastery located at the north west of Kathmandu which is opened on every Sunday for the public.
Pokhara: Pokhara is one of the most unique sub-tropical valley in the Himalaya and probably in the world, where one can marvel the beauty of the Himalayan landscape and reflection of the Annapurna massif including the towering majestic peak of Mt. Machhapuchhre on its beautiful lakes. Pokhara is situated in the mid western Nepal. It is linked by the main highway of 200 km driving distance from Kathmandu, and by air approximately 20 to 30 minutes flight with a sweeping panoramic view of the mid western Himalaya. Mother Nature has certainly blessed this fertile valley with outstanding scenery of the landscapes, snow capped mountains, moderate tropical climate, and beautiful pristine lakes of Begnas, Rupa and Fewa. Fewa lake is the second largest lake in Nepal and the most popular for the visitors because of its easy access.
The most stunning of Pokhara's sights is the magnificent panorama of the Annapurna range which forms its backdrop. Annapurna massif includes Annapurna I to IV and Annapurna South. Among these high peaks it is the towering majestic Mt. Machhapuchhre (Fish Tail) which dominates all others in this range Pokhara with its natural beauty is also a starting point of Nepal's most popular adventure destinations. Most of the trekking, mountaineering expeditions begin from this remarkable place and it's an ideal spot for all types of holiday makers.
Chitwan National Park: Chitwan National Park is the best preserved conservation area in Asia and the most visited National Park by tourists in Nepal which is enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. Established in 1973 AD, the park covers an area of 932 sq. km which includes hilly areas of the Shiwalik Range covered by deciduous trees. The park is bounded by Rapti and Narayani rivers and the altitude ranges from 110 to 850 meters. Chitwan National Park used to be called "Royal Chitwan National Park" because it was a big game place for Royal Family of Nepal. But, after the People's Revolution in 2006 AD, the initial word of the name (Royal) has been deleted. The park is the home for the endangered species like single-horned rhinoceros, Royal Bengal tiger. Other animals found in the park are rhesus monkey, leopard, sloth bear, wild boar, grey langur monkey, wild dog, small wild cats, marsh crocodile, the four species of deer and other animals. Similarly, it is also the home to 450 species of birds.
The Park offers interesting sites and activities, like Elephant safari, Jeep safari, canoeing etc. Elephant safari provides you great opportunity to have closer view of single-horned rhinoceros and you may get to see the Royal Bengal Tiger. A jeep safari through the jungle provides more game spotting opportunities than might be expected otherwise because it goes deeper into the jungle, usually beyond the beaten track. A thrilling tour in a four wheel drive into the heart of the park will enable you to view some of the rarest species of animals and birds.
On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted and received by our staff at the immigration department, who will escort you to Hotel. In the hotel you will be introduced with your guide and the office staff will also brief you about the following programmes. Overnight in Hotel
At 8 o’clock in the morning, the guide will meet you at the Hotel and give you pre-trip briefing for trip operation followed by breakfast. After breakfast, you will go to Swoyambhunath which is located approx. 8 km west of your hotel by private A/C vehicle. You will spend 1 and half or 2 hours at Swoyambhunath. Then you will head towards Boudhanath, which is situated approx. 10 km east of Swoyambhunath. After you finished sightseeing at Boudhanath, you will go for lunch in a roof top restaurant near Boudhanath Stupa from where you can have good view of Boudhanath. After having lunch, you will be transferred to Kathmandu Durbar Square which is 8 km south-west of Boudhanath. It is one of the three durbar squares of Kathmandu valley. It is also called Basantapur Durbar Square or Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square. It is the old palace of the Kings of Nepal. There are various temples including Taleju which is the temple of Kumari (the living goddess). After spending 3 to 4 hours at the Durbar Square you will be transferred to the hotel. After having breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to the airport at 8:30 am by private vehicle. You have to reach at airport 1 hour before your flight time. You will fly to Pokhara by Buddha Air at 9:50 am (flight can be delayed if the weather if not favorable). Pokhara is located at 200 km west of Kathmandu which can be reached by 20 minutes flight. Upon arrival at Pokhara airport, you will be picked up by a private vehicle and transferred to hotel. Overnight in Hotel
After having breakfast at 7:30 am, you will drive to visit Manhendra Cave and Bat Cave by a private car which is located 8 km north of Pokhara. After spending a couple of hours at the caves you will return to Lakeside or your hotel to have lunch. After lunch, you will drive to visit International Mountain Museum which is located at east of Pokhara Valley. Overnight in Hotel
After having breakfast at 7:30 am, you will drive to the Lakeside. You will enjoy boating on Phewa Lake for more than an hour looking at the beautiful mountain peaks. After you finished boating, you have stop in a good restaurant to have lunch. At 12:00 hrs you will drive to visit Davis Falls and Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave which are located near to each other at Chhorepatan, south of Pokhara Valley. Then you will drive to World Peace Stupa built by Japanese. From the stupa you can have very good view of Annapurna Mountain range, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, Pokhara Valley and Phewa Lake. In the evening you will be dropped to the hotel. Overnight in Hotel
After breakfast, you will drive a private vehicle to Chitwan. You will be in Chitwan by the lunch time. After having lunch you will go for village walking in Tharu villages. In the evening, you will be entertained by the Tharu Cultural Dance in the resort. Overnight in Kasara Resort
5:30 AM: Bird Watching: Wake-up call followed by tea or coffee and proceed for bird watching. Out of 519 species of the birds we have recorded 276 species in our area. Our guides will help you to identify some of the species of these birds. 8:30 AM: Breakfast at the resort. 9:30 AM: Elephant briefing/Bathing programme: Learn more about these fascinating animals during a visit to our elephant stables. (Note: Elephant bathing is done during summer season as elephant loves to bathe in the river willingly. Elephants are not forced to take bath during the cold season/day). 1:00 PM: Lunch at the dining hall 3:30 PM: Jeep Safari & Canoeing (subject to weather conditions): Drive by Land Rover to Kasara, the head quarter of The Chitwan National Park to see the Gharial (Alligator) hatchery project, founded by Frankfurt Zoological Society. After a short briefing about the project & visit, drive to the oxbow lakes (Lami Tal & Tamar Tal) by Land Rover through dense sal forest to encounter various plants and other wildlife. Then drive down to the Rapti river at canoeing put in point. Start canoeing in a traditional dug-out canoe which takes you on a silent trip down the Rapti River to view aquatic birds, crocodiles and the animals of the river banks. Overnight in Kasara Resort
You will be dropped at Bharatpur Airport at 10 o’clock. From Bharatpur Airport you will fly to Kathmandu by schedule flight of Buddha Air. Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be received by a private vehicle which will transfer you to Hotel. Overnight Hotel
After breakfast, your guide will meet you at the hotel lounge and give a short briefing about Pashupatinath and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Then, you will drive to Pashupatinath which is regarded as the biggest temple of Hindus in the world. Only Hindus are allowed to enter into the main temple. It is situated at the bank of Bagmati River. Bagmati River is regarded as the holiest place for cremation by the Hindus. You will see various dead bodies being cremated at the bank of Bagmati River. After then you will drive to visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square, which is one of the three Durbar Squares of Kathmandu Valley. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is the Kingdom of Malla Rulers and popular for its highly erotic ancient architecture design. You will have lunch break in a beautiful roof top restaurant in Bhaktapur Durbar Square Premises. Overnight in Hotel
